Dr. Desmond Barrett
The Barrett Family came to Summit Nazarene as the pastoral family in January of 2019 after serving on the Virginia and Kentucky District's. Pastor Desmond is a graduate of Nazarene Bible College with a Bachelor of Ministry degree, and Trevecca Nazarene University with a Master of Organizational Leadership and Doctor of Education in Leadership and Professional Practice. Pastor Desmond and Julie have four children and are passionate about living the mission of Christ and seeing His Kingdom built locally and around the world. The Barrett's have been married since 2000.
Pastor Ted is from West Union, Ohio. He studied Christian Education at Fort Wayne Bible College. He was the former Lead Pastor at Harrison Church of the Nazarene. He and his family moved to Ashland in 2015, which is his wife's, Reena's, hometown, and Summit is her home church. He is the Associate Pastor and oversees the Connection Groups within the church. He studied Community Agency Counseling at Ohio University and works at the Addiction Recovery Care Center weekdays.
Pastor Jane lives in Scioto County, Ohio. She and her family have called Summit Nazarene home since January, 2017. She fulfills her call from God to feed His lambs through compassionate ministries and by serving as Summit's Outreach Ministry Pastor. Pastor Jane is pursuing her ministerial studies through Mount Vernon Nazarene University. She also works at the Portsmouth, Ohio Corps of The Salvation Army. Her favorite activities are reading, coloring, and spending time with her husband, family and friends.
Visitation and Oakmont Campus Pastor
Pastor Darron, and his wife Donna, became part of the Summit family in March of 2020 after serving as pastor in Letcher County, Kentucky. Darron and Donna have been married since October 1990 and have two grown children. Darron graduated from Nazarene Bible College in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in pastoral ministry and in 2021 from Trevecca Nazarene University with a Master of Art in Religion.
Pastor Hunter joined the church in February of 2021.Hunter graduated from Ashland Paul Blazer in 2016, and then graduated from EKU with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management.
Teresa has attended Summit since she was nine years old. She is married with two children. She has a passion for administrative ministry along with being a part of the church praise team.
